Chocolate Scotcheroos

Originally from Kellogg's Rice Krispies

extra rich rice krispy treats

Makes 48 bars

Ingredients

  • 1 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. peanut butter
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 1 c. butterscotch morsels
  • vegetable cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Place corn syrup and sugar into large saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until sugar dissolves and mixture begins to boil.
  3. Remove from heat
  4. Stir in peanut butter.
  5. Mix well
  6. Add Rice Krispies cereal and stir until well coated
  7. Press mixture into 13x9 inch pan coated with cooking spray
  8. Melt chocolate and butterscotch morsels together in small saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly
  9. Spread over cereal mixture
  10. Let stand until firm
  11. Cut into 1 inch bars when cool.
