- Can I import recipes from other software?
-
Yes. One tsp. allows you to import recipes saved in the Meal Master format. These files typically end in a .txt or .mmf file extension. Many of the popular software packages for recipe management allow you to export to the Meal Master format.
Many recipes can be found online in the Meal Master format.
- Can I backup or export my recipes?
-
Yes. You can download a zip file containing all of your recipes. These files can be used for viewing your recipes offline or for importing them into other databases or web sites. One tsp. uses a custom format for recipe storage, so importing to other web sites may require some technical skills on your end.
More information about downloading your recipes can be found on your Account Page.
- Where can I change my password?
-
After you have signed in, click on your username at the top of the page to view options for your account.
- How do I format my recipes?
-
For most cases, you do not need to provide any special formatting for your recipes. If you enter your ingredients and instructions line-by-line, they will be formatted properly when displayed on the site.
If you would like additional formatting, including bold, italics, or hyperlinks to other web pages, you can make use of Markdown formatting, which is an alternative to learning to write HTML.
Sections that allow Markdown formatting are denoted with a star.Emphasize portions of your recipe:
Use asterisks to make **bold** and *italicized* text.Link to other pages or recipes using square brackets for the link name, and parenthesis around the URL:
This recipe pairs well with [delicious mojitos](http://onetsp.com/recipe/mohito)Add sub-headings within your recipes using '#' characters:
#Sadad#
Chop all vegetables into tiny little bits.
Mix together in a bowl!
#Dressing#
Place all liquid ingredients in a blender.
Blend on high until well mixed.Note that the site automatically formats the ingredients and directions sections of your recipes, so remember to enter each step on a separate line.
- How do I copy recipes from other web sites?
-
This video gives a quick overview on how you can copy recipes from other sites you use into One tsp. so you can manage your recipes in one place.
- Can I write recipes in a language other than English?
-
One tsp. supports non-English recipes...mostly. What I would say is that you should try it out, and if you run into problems, send an email and I'll see what I can do to fix things. I'm not, however, testing the site rigorously in other languages. So any help you want to provide is greatly appreciated!
- Which web browser or mobile phone browser can I use on One tsp.?
-
One tsp. is tested regularly in Firefox 3.5, Safari 4, Internet Explorer 8, and the iPhone's Mobile Safari browser. It's recommended that you use one of these browsers for the best experience.
If you're not using one of the recommended browsers, some features may not work properly or may look a little funky. If you experience very flaky behavior, feel free to report problems, especially for phone browsers (BlackBerry, Palm Pre, Android, Symbian, Windows Mobile, etc.).
We do not officially support Internet Explorer 6. If you are having trouble with One tsp. and are using Internet Explorer 6, we recommend that you upgrade your browser.
